Description:
The Nurturing Families Network at Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN) will run a free 10-week Dads’ Group at the South United Methodist Church, 1226 Main Street, Manchester, on Wednesday nights from 5 to 7:30 p.m. beginning October 7. The importance of dad's role within the family unit is so often underestimated. Come and learn why you are so important to your children. A light dinner will be served. Childcare is available. Description:
CLASS ENROLLMENT IS FULL: The Oct. 7 workshop designed especially for Parents of Preschoolers at the Lutz Children’s Museum is full. There are still openings in the Dec. 2 class. Dinner is at 5:30—6:00 pm with the Workshop from 6:00—7:30. The program on October 7 is Beyond Praise and Punishment: Effective Discipline with Young Children by Ruth Ettenberg Freeman, LCSW. Over the past 20 years, Ruth has used her insight and knowledge to teach positive parenting skills to hundreds of parents from all walks of life. This program will provide skills and approaches for effective discipline techniques. Participants will learn how to respond to misbehavior without hurting children's self-worth or parent-child relationships. All programs are FREE and childcare is available during the workshop.
