Registration for The Late Fall Storytime & Children’s Program Session
- Description:
- The Late Fall Storytime & Children’s Program Session at the Manchester Public Library will commence on Monday, November 9, 2009 and run through Saturday, December 19, 2009.
The six-week session will include storytimes for newborn children through children 5 years of age, and afternoon programs for children in Kindergarten through Grade 6. Afternoon programs include Marvelous Monday, Nutmeg @ Night and Wacky Wednesday.
Registration will begin on Monday, November 2, 2009 for Manchester residents and Wednesday, November 4, 2009 for non-residents. Both walk-in and telephone registration will begin at 9am for the Mary Cheney building, 860-645-0577, and 10am at the Whiton Memorial building, 100 North Main Street, Manchester, 860-643-6892.
Drop-In programs not requiring registration include Pajama Times, Friday Play Groups and Super Story Saturdays.
Upcoming special programs include Harvest Happening on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 10:30am and Gingerbread Extravaganza on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 3:30pm. Both programs will be held in the Howroyd Room at the Mary Cheney building, 586 Main Street, Manchester.
All library programs are free of charge.

[6:30pm] Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery
- Description:
- Obstetrician and gynecologist Katerina Michaels-Bogdan, MD will give a presentation on Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, Monday, November 2, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Michaels-Bogdan will discuss the major differences between the traditional approaches to common gynecologic procedures and the less invasive surgical options available. Hysterectomy, oophorectomy, removal of uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts will be covered.

- A Workshop, POEtics, will examine the poetic aesthetics of Edgar Allan Poe and their application for contemporary poets on Monday, November 2, 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Manchester Public Library, 586 Main Street. Conducted by Pulitzer Prize Nominee Pit Pinegar, the workshop is appropriate for adults and high-school students. The workshop is free and no registration is required.
