- Description:
- The Nurturing Families Network at Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN) will run a free 10-week Dads’ Group at the South United Methodist Church, 1226 Main Street, Manchester, on Wednesday nights from 5 to 7:30 p.m. beginning October 7.
The importance of dad's role within the family unit is so often underestimated. Come and learn why you are so important to your children. A light dinner will be served. Childcare is available. [5:30pm] Parents of Preschoolers
- Description:
- December is the last program in an exciting series of workshops designed especially for Parents of Preschoolers at the Lutz Children’s Museum. Dinner is at 5:30—6:00 pm with the Workshop from 6:00—7:30. The program on December 2 is Early Childhood Health and Wellness by Bryan Phillips, Certified Health Education Specialist. Bryan is a physical education teacher in Manchester, adjunct professor of Health Sciences
at Worcester State College and a Certified Health Education Specialist. This workshop will discuss the importance of health and wellness in our young children and will provide nutrition tips, ideas for fun activities to do at home and resources for learning more.
All programs are FREE and childcare is available during the workshop. [7:00pm] MCC French Gourmet Dinner

Enjoy a French Gourmet Dinner at MCC
What: Enjoy an evening of fine dining at Manchester Community College. MCC's award-winning culinary arts students will prepare and serve a six-course French gourmet dinner with wine for $75 per person.
Proceeds from this event will support the MCC culinary competition team as they compete in the 2010 American Culinary Federation (ACF) Northeast Regional Conference.
The gourmet dinner will begin in classic French style with a chicken consommé, then move through a paupiette of Dover sole, lemon-basil sorbet and on to duet of lamb in a Merlot reduction. The meal will include a trilogy of locally made cheeses and end with a dessert of mousse and petit fours. A variety of wines complementing each course will also be served throughout the evening.
