8:00am [8:00am] 12 noon Deadline to register for Primary in person
Description:
There is a 12 noon deadline Monday, August 9th to register to vote and change party enrollment from unaffiliated to a major party in order to vote in the Primary for Federal, State, and Municipal Offices to be held tomorrow, Tuesday, August 10. This must be done in person at the Registrars Office, Weiss Center, 479 Main St. by 12:00 p.m. All 10 Polling Places in Manchester will be open from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, Aug. 10. Voters must be enrolled in either the Democratic or Republican Party to vote in the Primary. Cut-off to transfer from one Major party to another Major party was May 10, 2010. Thursday, August 5th - Last day that Mailed-in Voter Registration cards can be postmarked to register to vote and change party enrollment from unaffiliated to a major party to be eligible to vote in the Primary. You Must be 18 years old by November 2, 2010 to vote in the Primary. You can obtain Voter Registration Applications by contacting the Registrars Office at 647-3025, or via the Secretary of the States website. All completed forms should be mailed to: Registrars of Voters, 479 Main Street, PO Box 191, Manchester, CT 06045-0191. http://www.townofmanchester.org/registrar/default.cfm Absentee Ballot Applications can be obtained from the Town Clerk's office in Town Hall, 647-3037.

6:00pm [6:00pm] Healthcare Provider Recertification
Description:
Monthly American Heart Association classes in Healthcare Provider Recertification, 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM will be offered by the Manchester, Fire Rescue and EMS Department at it's training room at the Main Station, 75 Center Street, next to the Town Hall. Two year certification card will be issued. Advance registration and payment are required. Call (860)432-0076 for information and registration. A class in Bloodborne Pathogens would be available on request.

Description:
The Planning and Zoning Commission will have a meeting today at 7:00 PM in the Lincoln Center Hearing Room, 494 Main St. At combined public hearings/business meetings, the public hearing portion will begin at 7:00PM and the business meeting will follow immediately after the hearings are closed. Description:
Chris Silver, Director of the Office of Neighborhood and Families. Appears on Manchester Review in August. Silver and Town Director, Matt Peak, discuss the origins of the Office of Neighborhood and Families and the upcoming fall classes offered through the Neighborhood Academy. Peak shares his perspective as a financial advisor on the importance of financial education for adults and youth. Fall programs such as the Government Academy and Police Academy are described. Watch Manchester Review in August to find out how to register for courses in financial literacy, leadership development, the Government Academy and the Citizens Police Academy. Perhaps it will lead you to involvement in Town politics. Manchester Review is a public affairs program hosted by Jack Peak. The show airs every Monday night in August at 9PM on Cox Channel 15.
