  Manchester Public Library's April School Vacation Week Activities!
Description:
The Manchester Public Library has programs throughout April Vacation at both the Mary Cheney Library Building, 586 Main Street and at the Whiton Memorial Library Building, 100 North Main Street. Programs from April 2, 2012 through Thursday, April 5, 2012 include: Science Sensations; Pizza, Parachute, and Bingo, Interlocking Blocks, and an Earth Day Storytime. Call 860-645-0577 at Cheney or 860-643-6892 at Whiton for more information on these programs and for times and locations. On Saturday, April 7, 2012, Peter Rabbit will visit the Mary Cheney Library Building from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Bring your cameras for this fun photo opportunity!

Description:
A Veteran's benefits counselor will be at the Weiss Center conference room every Tuesday from 1pm-3pm. Walk-ins are Welcome, or you can make an appointment by calling 860-647-3270 and select option #2. The Weiss Center is located at 479 Main St. in Manchester. Park in rear of building. Use the parking lot entrance. Follow signs to veteran's counselor in the 1st floor conference room. There is an elevator located at this entrance. This is for all veterans, regardless of branch of service, combat or non-combat.

Description:
In order to highlight the growing need for awareness about autism, April has been designated as National Autism Awareness Month. This month provides a special opportunity to educate the public about autism and issues within the autism community. Please join the Town of Manchester and its Board of Directors in proclaiming April as National Autism Awareness Month on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hearing Room at Lincoln Center. This proclamation will be presented at the beginning of the Board of Directors’ meeting. In celebration of World Autism Awareness Day on April 2nd, “Light It Up Blue”! Light It Up Blue is a unique global initiative to help raise awareness about the growing public health concern that is autism. Whether it’s your front porch or a lamp in your window, the whole world is going blue to increase awareness about autism. Join us now and help shine a light on autism.
