The Early Spring 2012 Storytime Session at the Manchester Public Library begins on April 16, 2012.
Registration for Manchester residents begins on Monday, April 9, 2012.
Registration for non-residents begins on Wednesday, April 11, 2012.
There are programs for children from birth through 6th grade. Most programs require registration.
The ever popular Family Place workshops return on April 17, 2012 for children from 0 - 36 months and their families. Registration is required.
A new program will begin for 3rd - 5th graders on Mondays at 3:45 p.m. called So You Want to Be an Engineer. In this program, children will be able to work on any or all of three activities.
Drop-in programs include: Pajama Storytime at Whiton on Tuesdays and Cheney on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m., Preschool Playgroup from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Cheney and 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Whiton on Fridays and Drop-in Storytime on Saturdays at Cheney at 10:30 a.m. Call 860-643-6892 at Whiton Memorial Library Building, 100 North Main Street, Manchester or 860-645-0577 at Mary Cheney Library Building, 586 Main Street, Manchester for more information.

- Senior Center Newcomer’s Meeting
The Newcomer’s Meeting open to those 60+, will be held on the second Wednesday of the month,at 11:00 a.m. in the Bingo Room.
Members will receive introductions to programs and tour the facility. Please register with the front office by calling 860-647-3211 ahead of time so we can properly prepare for your visit.
Join us for lunch by registering at least two days before.

- The Cheney Hall Foundation will meet this evening at 6:00 p.m. at Cheney Hall, 177 Hartford Road.

- Monthly American Heart association classes are offered by the Manchester, Fire Rescue and EMS Department at the fire station training room, 75 Center Street. Two-year certification cards are issued for all courses except for the Daycare Provider class.

Green Manor will also continue to hold their own meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Senior Center on East Middle Tnpk.

[7:00pm] Author Appearance; Colin McEnroe
- Description:
- Connecticut resident and WNPR radio personality Colin McEnroe is the author of “My father's footprints: a memoir", the Manchester One Book, One Village 2012 selection. The community read program is sponsored by Manchester Public Library, in partnership with Manchester High School and Manchester Community College and is generously funded by the SBM Charitable Foundation.
McEnroe will appear at the SBM Auditorium at Manchester Community College on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 7:00pm. This free program will be moderated by Jim Farrell and will allow for some questions from the audience.
