  Community Development Block Grant Public Hearing
Town residents are invited to attend this meeting regarding the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The town is seeking resident input on how to spend its federal CDBG monies during the program year that begins October 1, 2017. In accordance with Section 47a – 42c of the Connecticut General Statutes, property obtained by the Town of Manchester through evictions shall be auctioned. The auction will be held at the Town’s storage facility at Greene Moving and Storage.St., on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.

There is a mobile food share at New River Community Church, 314 Woodbridge Street, Manchester, every other Wednesday from 1:00 - 1:30pm. This program provides primarily fresh fruits and vegetables to individuals & families in need. For more information, call New River Church at 860-648-2970 or Foodshare at 860-286-9999. 4:00pm [4:00pm] Jazz Fest 2017 Manchester High School
Guest Band and Jazz Artists at MHS JazzFest17 The UCONN Big Band and area professional jazz artists Earl MacDonald, Douglas Maher, and Jeffrey Holmes will perform at the the 11th annual Manchester High School JazzFest on Wednesday February 15 (snow date February 16) from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in MHS’ Bailey Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public. JazzFest offers music lovers a chance to hear great jazz performed by 8 wonderful area high school jazz bands and our special guest performers. The UCONN Big Band will perform at 4:00 p.m. followed by bands from Newington, Northwest Catholic, Ellington, Fitch (Groton, CT), Maloney (Meriden, CT), RHAM (Hebron, CT), and Manchester. The entire event will conclude with our 3 festival judges performing with the MHS Jazz Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Concessions will be available for sale to benefit the Manchester band Parents Association’s scholarship fund. The next meeting of the Manchester Art Association will be Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017 in the auditorium of the Arbors(extra parking is available at Manchester Manor next door). Check our website for the announcement of our guest artist. The program will include a members’ Art-of-the-Month competition and light refreshments. The meeting is free and open to the public.
