  Registration for Lunch Newcomers Meeting
Newcomers Meeting The next Senior Center Newcomer’s meeting, open to those 60+ and Members will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 11:00 a.m. in the library. New members will receive introductions to our programs and tour our facility. You must REGISTER with the front office by calling (860) 647-3211 ahead of time so we may properly prepare for your visit. Registration for Late Winter Storytime Session
Late Winter Storytime Session – The session runs from February 27th – April 8th with many program options. Registration begins February 21st for Manchester residents and February 23rd for non-residents. Storytimes are offered for infants, one-year olds, two-year olds and three-to-five year olds. Please see a storytime brochure or ask a librarian for more details on these programs and our drop-in storytime options. The Mobile Food Share will be at Squire Village, (1st parking lot off of Imperial Drive #78) 48 Spencer St., Manchester. Please arrive early to be in line for 9am as the truck leaves promptly at 9:30am. Open to the public; Bring a sturdy grocery bag! 10:00am [10:00am] The Benefits of Naturopathic Medicine
The Manchester Health Department is sponsoring the "Benefits of Naturopathic Medicine”, on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, Dr. Burns from Connecticut Natural Health Specialists will be discussing the principles and philosophy behind naturopathic medicine as well as bringing examples of various therapies utilized by naturopathic physicians (NDs). Naturopathic Medicine is a distinct primary health care profession that combines natural healing techniques with modern science. Naturopathic Doctors (ND) are well versed in treating chronic illnesses and emphasize preventative medicine, but can also aid in acute care. Overall, NDs offer a unique provider setting, with a focus on prevention and health promotion. She will also be demonstrating Rocktape, a natural therapy to support joint pain and will demonstrate herbal tinctures and supplements often used. [2:00pm] Senior Taxpayer Program
There will be a presentation by John Rainaldi, Director of Assessment and Collection at the Senior Center. John will discuss and review the tax assistance programs available to Manchester’s senior citizens. This will include information on the Senior Homeowner’s Program, the HELP Program, Veteran’s Programs and various other programs that are offered to qualifying seniors. Please leave your name and phone number at the senior center front office or call 860-647-3211 so that we may properly prepare for your visit.
