[9:00am] History Event
Identifying old Manchester pictures at the Manchester History Center, 175 Pine Street on Sunday, February 26 and Sunday, March 12. View and help identify photos by Reggie Pinto (1925-2011), who worked for the former Manchester Herald. Most of the photos do not include dates, locations, or identity of the people in them – graduations, business openings, award ceremonies. Come any time between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. The gift shop will be open, with copies of old maps, books, high school yearbooks, etc. The exhibit is also open Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., but please phone ahead to make sure a volunteer is on duty. [9:00am] Manchester Brotherhood in Action Fundraiser Breakfast
The Manchester Brotherhood in Action (BIA) proudly announces that our annual community breakfast will benefit Lexi Rowean and Devin Case, children with life threatening illnesses. This years’ event will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2017. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Town Hall Customer Service, or at the door, $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children (12 yrs & under). Little League Registration All Signups are online through March 5, or at the Manchester Elks, 30 Bissell St.: Sunday February 26th from 12:00 – 4:00 pm, or Tuesday February 28th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Both new & returning players MUST register to play. These are the ONLY registration dates for the 2017 season. Failure to register your child on one of these dates may mean they will not have the opportunity to play in 2017. Please don’t delay. www.manchesterlittleleague.org

[1:00pm] Free - Rail Trail Hike
Free Rail Trail Hike on Sunday, February 26, co-sponsored by the Manchester Land Trust and CT Forest and Park Association. Hikers will have an easy 3-mile walk along the former railroad, built in 1869. We will hike along the one-mile portion owned by the Land Trust and, depending on the weather, on to Center Springs Park and the new footbridge overlooking Broad Street. About two hours round trip, with commentary on the creation of the rail-trail. Meet at the tracks on the north (right) side of 2 Main Street. Park at the nearby shopping plaza or Eighth Utilities District office building (please do not park in Farr's store’s parking lot). A special favor will be given to children who attend the hike. Looking for people who share your love of young adult fiction? The Manchester Public Library’s Not So 'YA' Book Club has got you covered! Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 7pm at the Whiton Branch. This month we will be discussing, I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga, a thriller where the son of the world’s most infamous serial killer helps the police to solve a new string of murders.
