  National Public Health Week
National Public Health Week April 3-7, 2017 - The theme for National Public Health Week 2017 is to “Become part of a growing movement to create the healthiest nation in one generation.” Nationally, we are celebrating the power of prevention, advocating for healthy and fair policies, sharing strategies for successful partnerships and championing the role of a strong public health system. The Manchester Health Department will have a table at town hall with information including Lead Paint Safety, Ticks and Lyme disease, Hepatitis C, Food Safety, Emergency Preparedness, Opioid Abuse Prevention, and Other General Public Health Topics.

The Building Committee Meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017 in the Manchester Room at Town Hall. *NOTE This is a change from the normal scheduled time of 7:00 p.m.

Morning and evening all-levels yoga open to all, including beginners, at the Meetinghouse of Unitarian Universalist Society: East, 153 Vernon St. West, Manchester. Two series: Mondays 5:45-6:45 p.m., April 3 to June 5 (no class April 24 and May 29); or Wednesdays 11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon., April 5 to May 24. $40 for 8-week session; $6 drop-in. 7:00pm [7:00pm] Mysteries on Main Book Discussion for Adults
Join the discussion of "The Unquiet Dead" by Ausma Zehanat Khan. The novel is Book 1 of the Rachel Getty and Esa Khattak series dealing with minority-sensitive crimes. It has been described by the publisher as "a complex and provocative story of loss, redemption, and the cost of justice that will linger with readers long after turning the final page." The program will take place in the Howroyd Room at the Mary Cheney Library. Copies are available in the Library's Reference Department and at the Whiton Branch.
