  Little Theatre of Manchester Presents: GODSPELL
Description:
Tickets are selling fast for Little Theatre of Manchester’s upcoming production of the musical phenomenon GODSPELL. Parables vibrantly come to life in this beloved family-friendly musical based on The Gospel According to St. Matthew. This updated 2012 revival version features dazzling new arrangements by the composer of the hit Broadway musical, Wicked. GODSPELL runs April 7 through April 23 at Cheney Hall in Manchester. Tickets are $25-$30, with discounts available for both seniors and students and for groups of 20 or more. Description:
Unitarian Universalist Society: East to Host Speak Up “Food & Drink” ArtsMash at the Unitarian Universalist Society: East (UUS:E) will host Speak Up “Food & Drink” on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 7 PM. Join us for an evening of true stories — both humorous and heartfelt — centered on the theme "Food & Drink." All stories are 6-8 minutes long and are guaranteed to make you laugh, cry, and think. The program will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Society: East located at 153 Vernon Street West, Manchester, CT. Speak Up founders and producers Matthew and Elysha Dicks work closely with storytellers to help them craft their stories for the stage and teach storytelling workshops to storytellers and professionals at all levels. Description:
The Friends of Music at Emanuel will present two remarkable young musicians in their early teens on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 60 Church Street, Manchester. Pianist Martim Almeida, a native of Portugal, and violinist Tyler Tan, a Connecticut native, will display their exceptional talent performing Grieg's Violin Sonata in C minor for violin and piano and other virtuosic solo works. Almeida made his concert debut in November 2015 with the Orquestra Classica do Centro (Coimbra, Portugal); Tan has been soloist with the Cheshire Symphony Orchestra and New England Youth Symphony. Both are joint winners of the 2015 CT Virtuosi Institute Youth Competition. Concert is free. Donations accepted. Reception immediately following the concert.
