  Registration Starts for Spring Storytime Session
The session runs from April 17th – May 20th with many program options. Registration begins April 10th for Manchester residents and April 12th for non-residents. Storytimes are offered for infants, one-year olds, two-year olds and three-to-five year olds. Family Place workshops for children 0-36 months and their caregivers will also resume this spring. Please see a storytime brochure or ask a librarian for more details on these programs and our drop-in storytime options. 2:00pm [2:30pm] Cartooning Workshop
Draw with cartoonist Jason Deeble! A limited number of tickets will be handed out for this workshop beginning at 1:30pm the day of. Program is limited to 20 children in grades 1-4 only. Parents and siblings remain upstairs. Supplies provided. Call 860-645-0577 for information.

6:00pm [6:30pm] Whiton Library Event
Songbirds of the Northeast with John Root, Naturalist. Monday, April 10, 2017 at 6:30pm. Program will feature both photographs and recordings of our regions songbirds. Root will discuss the role of song in these birds' lives as well as their diet, social behavior, and other adaptations for survival. Attendees will learn how to provide an attractive habitat for songbirds. Questions and comments will be welcome. This event is FREE, open to the public and will be held in the Whiton Auditorium, 100 North Main St., Manchester, CT 06042. [7:00pm] Manchester Garden Club Meeting
The guest speaker will be Marie Lipski and her topic will be Autumn Gardens. Marie, a Certified Advanced Master Gardner, Master Naturalist, and Conservationist will be helping us plan in the Spring for the special beauty of an Autumn garden and how to ease them into Winter. The Manchester Garden Club meetings are held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 41 Park Street, Manchester on most second Mondays of the month (September through June) The doors open at 6:45 P.M. and meetings start at 7:00 P.M.
