  Advisory Recreation & Park Commission Meeting CANCELLED
The June 15, 2017 meeting of the Advisory Recreation & Park Commission has been cancelled due to lack of quorum. The meetings of July 20, 2017 and August 17,2017 are cancelled for summer break. Meetings will resume on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Center Springs Park on 39 Lodge Dr. at 6pm.

The Redevelopment Agency meeting scheduled for Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 7:30 a.m. in the Lincoln Center Hearing Room has been canceled.

Collecting Tag Sale Items for Land Trust
For its September tag sale, the Manchester Land Conservation Trust seeks donations of books, tools, household items, furniture, toys, games, etc. Drop off donations at barn, 330 Bush Hill Rd., Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from August 7 to September 21 from 11:00 to 2:00 each day. No computers, TVs, clothing, please. The actual tag sale is September 22 to September 30, from 9:00am to 2:00pm each day. Come back and shop! The tag sale raises funds for the Land Trust and its open-space properties, including the 62-acre farm off Bush Hill Road in Manchester and Glastonbury. The farm trails are open maybe plan a two-to-three-mile hike while dropping off tag sale items. Land Trust info: www.manchesterlandtrust.org.

2:00pm [2:00pm] Temporary Tattoo Program for Teens
Come and get some temporary ink! On Thursday, August 17, 2017. We will be designing and printing our own temporary tattoos. The program will take place in the Howroyd Room at Cheney. All materials will be provided and registration is required. This program is for teens entering 6th to 12th grade. For more information and to register ask for Ashley or Ed at 860-645-0821.

5:00pm [5:00pm] Mindfulness Work Shop
Mindfulness Work Shop An introductory one day work shop on Mindfulness, based on the Mindful Based Stress Reduction Program at the Center for Mindfulness at UMASS Medical School will be held at the Eastside Resource Center 153 Spruce St. in Manchester. The program will be offered on three separate nights, August 10, 17 and 24 from 5:00-7:00 PM, no fee is required, only a sincere interest in Mindfulness. 7:00pm [7:00pm] Compassionate Friends Meeting
The Compassionate Friends will meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Compassionate Friends is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization that offers friendship and understanding to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. There is no religious affiliation and there are no membership dues or fees. We extend a special warm welcome to you. We know that it takes courage to come to your first meeting, and invite you to bring a friend or relative. Doors will open at 6:30 pm to welcome new members.

[7:00pm] Manchester Land Conservation Trust Meeting
The Board of Directors generally meets at 7:00 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month at 20 Hartford Road, our office, located in the mansion at the corner of Main Street and Hartford Road (upstairs from Chamber of Commerce). [7:00pm] NAMI Friends & Family Support
This group meets the 3rd Thursday of each month. It is open to families and friends of people with mental illness and focuses on sharing experiences and information.
