Newcomers Meeting The next Senior Center Newcomer’s meeting, open to those 60+ and Members will be held on Wednesday, Nov 15th at 11:00 a.m. in the library. New members will receive introductions to our programs and tour our facility. Description:
Boy Scout Troop 123 is holding an information session for any girls interested in joining the BSA program. The meeting will be on Monday, November 13 at 7:00 pm at Community Baptist Church, 585 East Center Street. Leaders of Troop 123 will be available to answer questions for interested girls and their parents. BSA Troop 123 has been developing character and leadership for Manchester-area youth for 60 years. Description:
Manchester Garden Club The Manchester Garden Club will meet Nov. 13, at 7:00 pm. at the Center Congregational Church, 11 Center Street. Carol Quish covers the hows and whys of making composting including the scientific reasons. Basics, practical advice and troubleshooting compost pile problems will be covered. Carol is a horticulturist at the UConn Home and Garden Education Center. She provides plant disease diagnosis and insect identification, and answers plant and pest questions via a toll free phone line, email, and in person. Carol has a degree in Ornamental Horticulture and Turfgrass Management from UConn. Her certifications include Advanced Master Garden, Master Composter, and CT Nursery and Landscape Association Professional. The Manchester Garden Club meetings are held on most second Mondays of the month (September through June) The doors open at 6:45 P.M. and meetings start at 7:00 P.M.
