[7:00pm] Get Graphic Book Club Meeting
Description:
The Manchester Public Library hosts its December meeting of Get Graphic, a book club focused on graphic novels for adults. The December selection is Maus by Art Spiegelman. A brutally moving work of art widely hailed as the greatest graphic novel ever written. Maus recounts the chilling experiences of the authorís father during the Holocaust, with Jews drawn as wide-eyed mice and Nazis as menacing cats. Maus is a haunting tale within a tale, weaving the authorís account of his tortured relationship with his aging father into an astonishing retelling of one of history's most unspeakable tragedies. It is an unforgettable story of survival and a disarming look at the legacy of trauma. (From www.goodreads.com) No registration required for this free event. Copies of the book are available for check out at the main library. For more information, please call Jenn Bartlett at 860-643-2471 or visit the library website using the URL shown below.
