Description:
Dignity Begins with the Basics. St. Mary’s has teamed up with Concordia Lutheran Church and Emanuel Lutheran Church to declare Sunday March 4th as Undie Sunday. Collecting new, packaged underwear, socks, long-johns, bras and plain t-shirts in all sizes for all ages and genders on March 4. Items donated to St. Mary’s will be delivered to Bennet Academy’s Family Resource Center and to the Manchester Area Council of Churches (MACC Charities) for distribution through its community outreach programs.

[1:00pm] Adeline Gray and Her Jump Into Fame
Description:
The Manchester Historical Society invites the public to an illustrated talk about Adeline Gray (1917-1975), who began parachute jumping in 1935 and worked for Pioneer Parachute. Jim Reuter, an engineer who recently retired from Pioneer after 52 years, will present the talk. Adeline was nationally famous for being the first person to test-jump a parachute made from nylon rather than silk, which she did in June, 1942. $5.00 for non-members $3.00 for Society members Free for children under age 16 Light refreshments will be available for sale.
