The May meeting of Getting Graphic, a book club focused on graphic novels for adults. The May selection is Black Panther V. 1 by Ta-Nehisi Coates. The indomitable will of Wakanda—the famed African nation known for its vast wealth, advanced technology, and warrior traditions—has long been reflected in the will of its monarchs, the Black Panthers. But now the current Black Panther, T’Challa, finds that will tested by a superhuman terrorist group called The People that has sparked a violent uprising among the citizens of Wakanda. National Prevention Week Presents: Alternatives to Opiates for Pain Management On Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, Doctors from Collaborative Natural Health Partners in Manchester , CT a group of Naturopathic and Osteopathic primary care doctors and acupuncturists are presenting “Safer Options: Alternatives to Opiates for Pain Management” at the Community Y located at 78 North Main Street. Topics to be discussed but not limited to are: Osteopathic Techniques such as Bowen Therapy, craniosacral therapy, and manipulation, benefits of physical therapy assisting those struggling with pain, helping them to strengthen their bodies and actively manage their symptoms, an introduction to massage therapy, chiropractic treatment and herbs. The Compassionate Friends will meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Compassionate Friends is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization that offers friendship and understanding to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. There is no religious affiliation and there are no membership dues or fees. We extend a special warm welcome to you. Description:
This group meets the 3rd Thursday of each month. It is open to families and friends of people with mental illness and focuses on sharing experiences and information.
