Avoiding Identity Theft

Description: Connecticut Better Business Bureau presents "Avoiding Identity Theft and Other Scams." Tuesday, April 25, 2017, 2:00pm. Identity theft and identity fraud are terms used to refer to all types of crime in which someone wrongfully obtains and uses another person's personal data in some way that involves fraud or deception, typically for economic gain. Senior citizens should be especially aware of fraud schemes targeting their lifestyle and savings. The CT BBB will offer tips on how to protect yourself and family members. The program is presented in partnership with Money Smart Week, April 22-29, 2017.The program will take place in the Whiton Branch Auditorium, 100 North Main Street.
