  Cheney Hall presents 'Calendar Girls'
Calendar Girls at Cheney Hall February 3-4-5, 10-11-12, 17-18-19, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. except for Sundays which are at 2:00 p.m. ***Note**An added performance on Sat.Feb 18th at 2pm has been added** This revealing comedy, inspired by the Hollywood hit movie, opens LTM's 2017 Season. When her husband dies, Annie and her Yorkshire Women's Institute members come together to raise money for a new settee in the local hospital waiting room by posing for a calendar…completely in the nude. Positioned behind flowers, cakes, and knitting projects, the women discover what it means to be confident in their own skin and the shining beauty within themselves and each other. 11:00am [11:00am] Imagine Main Street Inside Market
Imagine Main Street will kick off the 2017 season, of arts and cultural activities in Downtown Manchester, with an Imagine Inside Market on Saturday, February 4th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at MCC on Main, 903 Main Street. Although the typical Thursday night events won't begin until May, organizers are keeping the excitement going by planning this pre-Valentine's Day shopping and cultural experience. Many of the 2016 Imagine vendors will be on hand and will be joined by many new businesses including Heart Art Crafts, Balkun Woodcarving, Jean Henderson Art, Vixen's Delight, Fog Hollow Studio, Nightwing Whitehead, and Stitch and Stuff. To make the event even more special, The Tea Round, a British tea experience will be available with goodies including scones served with fresh Devonshire cream and jam, assorted biscuits and savories and wonderful tea. Advance reservations are encouraged for a half-hour, seated, authentic afternoon tea at the Imagine Inside Market and can be made by calling The Tea Round at 860-787-5286. Prices range from $5 to $20. Music from Town Troubadour Dan Thompson and guitarist Nick Cutroneo will enhance the day's activities. [2:00pm] Cheney Cinema Saturday!
The Manchester Public Library will show a popular book made into a movie during Cheney Cinema Saturday on February 4th, 2017. Due to license restrictions (since admission is free) we cannot release the name of the movie being shown, however it is rated PG-13, and run time is 2 hours and 13 minutes. When a lighthouse keeper and his wife find a baby by itself floating in a boat off the coast of Western Australia, they decide to raise the child as their own. When the child’s birth mother is found to be alive, the couple faces a difficult decision. Light refreshments will be served. No registration required for this free event.
