6:00pm [6:30pm] Concert for Parkinson’s Disease Awareness
Arbors of Hop Brook Life Plan Community will host a benefit concert tribute for Maestro Luiz de Moura Castro with performances by his former students – all now internationally acclaimed pianists in their own right – at its Manchester facility located at 403 West Center Street on Tuesday, July 11. The special evening will begin with appetizers and cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and followed by performances at 7:30 p.m. In honor of Maestro Castro, the benefit will include performances by five pianists, all alumni of The Hartt School at the University of Hartford: David Garrido Sid, Tamila Azadaliyeva, Paul Bisaccia, Margarita Nuller and Alex Nakhimovsky. A performance by Maestro Castro will also be included in the evening’s festivities. Tickets for the evening social hour and performance are $50.00 per person, with all proceeds benefitting the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation. Tickets may be purchased by calling 860-533-2519.

Pursuant to Chapter 3 of the General Statutes of Connecticut, Section 1-21, notice is hereby given that the schedule of Regular Meetings of the Board of Directors for year 2017 is as follows: January 3 and (10th cancelled) February 7 and (14th cancelled) March 7 and 14 (14th c) April 4, 11, and 18(11th & 18th Cancelled) May 2 and 9 June 6 and 13 (13th Cancelled) July 11 and 18 (18th Cancelled) August 1 and 8 (1st Cancelled) September 5 and 12 (Sept. 12 is a Special Meeting) October 3 and 10 (10th Cancelled) *November 20 and 21 December 5 and 12 (Dec.5 cancelled) Agendas are posted online prior to the meeting. *Swearing In Ceremony is on Monday, November 20th, at Cheney Hall. Meeting of the newly elected Board of Directors is Tuesday, November 21st. Regular meetings will be held in the Hearing Room at Lincoln Center, 494 Main Street, Manchester, Connecticut at 7:00 p.m. Special Meetings will be held at such time and places as determined by the Board of Directors.

[7:00pm] World Building in Fantasy Fiction
Author Matthew Bartlett will be discussing the process of world building in fantasy fiction, as well as discussing his newest book, 'Rise of the Black Phoenix'. This free program will take place at the Whiton Branch Library. No registration is required. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
