The Capitol Region East Operating Committee (CREOC) is pleased to announce Tradebe Environmental Services as the new contractor that will provide HHW collection services to the eight member Towns. Fall Outreach Collection: Saturday, October 14th only - Somers, CT (5 Vision Blvd., the parking lot next to the Somers High School. Come and shop! Lots of books, tools, household items, furniture, toys, games, etc. The tag sale raises funds for the Land Trust and its open-space properties, including the 62-acre farm off Bush Hill Road in Manchester and Glastonbury. Tag sale is September 22 to September 30, from 9:00am to 2:00pm each day.

Board Game Group For Adults! Manchester, Ct September 30, 2017: The Silk City Board Game Group, hosted by the Manchester Public Library, will meet on Saturday September 30, 2017 from 12-4:30PM. A variety of new, hot, and pre-released games from Gen Con, the largest board gaming convention in North America, will be available to try. We’ll supply all the games- no need to bring any with you! We are pleased to partner with The Portal to offer this program. No registration required. Free program! Free light refreshments to be served. This event starts at 12PM in the Howroyd Program Room and will last until 4:30PM. The library is located at 586 Main Street, Manchester, CT. safeTALK - Suicide Alertness Training at the Manchester Church of Christ. The training will be on September 30th, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. There will be a presentation by a LivingWorks registered trainer, followed by hands on skills practice and development. The course is $10 per person which covers the cost of the take home materials. There are 30 seats available on a first come first served basis so an RSVP is necessary. You can reserve your spot today by email, phone or stop by and use the sign-up sheet in the church foyer.
