The Capitol Region East Operating Committee (CREOC) is pleased to announce Tradebe Environmental Services as the new contractor that will provide HHW collection services to the eight member Towns. Fall Outreach Collection: Saturday, October 14th only - Somers, CT (5 Vision Blvd., the parking lot next to the Somers High School. Harvest Costume Carnival Manchester Church of Christ is holding their Annual Harvest Costume Carnival on October 14th from 1:00 - 3:00 pm here at the Manchester Church of Christ - 595 Tolland Turnpike, Manchester. All children in 5th grade and younger are invited to wear a costume and attend the carnival. The carnival is completely free for everyone! We will have games, prizes, candy, moon bounce, obstacle course, hay rides, photo booth and more.

The Manchester Public Library will be hosting an event in honor of Indie Author Day on Saturday, October 14th. Beginning at 2:00 pm in the Howyrod Room, there will be a panel of local indie authors discussing how they get inspired, the writing process, how to get published, and how to market yourself and your work. Panel Members include: Dan Foley, Stacey Longo, B.L. Daniels, Liz Delton, Matthew Bartlett, John Valeri and Shawn P. Flynn. A must attend event for all aspiring writers as you will have access to inside tips and networking opportunities. This is a free event and no registration is required.
