There will be a Puerto Rico Relief Effort in Manchester, CT on Oct. 26-29. You can help by donating supplies (specified below). These supplies will be transported Miami on Oct. 30th and then delivered to Puerto Rico. Thank you for helping us make a difference in Puerto Rico! How you can help: FILL THE TRUCK Help us send relief supplies to Puerto Rico. Items most needed include: cases of bottle water, battery operated fans, strong LED flash lights, batteries and rechargeable batteries. DROP OFF LOCATION: Faith Tabernacle, 110 Utopia Rd, Manchester, CT 06042 DROP OFF DATES: Thursday and Friday October 26-27 from 8am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday October 28-29 from 9am to 12pm If you choose to make a monetary donation, there are two ways you can do so. 1. 12:00pm [12:30pm] Manchester CROP Walk
CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by local congregations to raise funds and awareness to end hunger at home (Manchester Area Conference of Churches) and around the world. This year’s CROP Walk begins and ends at Center Congregational Church. Walkers will enjoy a clearly marked route through beautiful Center Springs Park. Registration begins at 12:30 P.M. 4:00pm [4:00pm] Quincentennial of the Reformation
Roman Catholics and Lutheran Together to Commemorate the Quincentennial of the Reformation A Joint Roman Catholic/Lutheran Service of Solemn Vespers on the Commemoration of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. A service of solemn vespers will begin at 4:00 p.m. and is preceded by a recital of organ works at 3:30 p.m.. Bishops Archbishop Leonard Blair of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hartford and Bishop James Hazelwood of the New England Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America will preside and preach. Honored guests will include Bishop Ian Douglas and Bishop Suffragan Laura Ahrens of the Episcopal Church in CT. All are welcome. A festive reception follows in Concordia's Kaiser Hall. Concordia is handicapped accessible for those with special needs.
