[1:30pm] Micro-grids - Making our Electric Grid Stronger
Most of us have lived through a major electrical outage. We all find this inconvenient, but as recent natural disasters have proven, for some it is lethal. The Solar Energy Association of Connecticut invites you to a forum on Micro-grids, a way to modernize our electric grid to isolate parts which have their own energy generators to remain in operation during a grid failure. Several CT towns have built micro-grids to keep their essential services operating when the rest of the grid fails. We will have speakers from Eversource, an electric equipment supplier and planners for a micro-grid in a local community. Should your town be planning for a micro-grid? Saturday, Nov 4, 2017 (1:30 pm), Community Room, Manchester Police Station, 239 Middle Tpke East (near Illing Junior High School), Manchester, CT 06040
