The Mobile Food Share will be at Squire Village, (1st parking lot off of Imperial Drive #78) 48 Spencer St., Manchester. Please arrive early to be in line for 9am as the truck leaves promptly at 9:30am. Open to the public; Bring a sturdy grocery bag! 7:00pm [7:00pm] A Fall Film Festival Presented by UUS:E
The Unitarian Universalist Society: East (UUS:E) will host Rejoice and Resist: A Fall Film Festival on Tuesdays, October 17 and November 28, 2017, at 7 PM. In recognition of this yearís Unitarian Universalist General Assembly theme, we will screen and discuss two eclectic films celebrating the human spirit in the face of challenge and adversity. On Tuesday, October 17: "The Grapes of Wrath." Released in 1940, depression-era Oklahoma Dust Bowl farmers set out for a better life in California in this John Ford masterpiece. Starring Henry Fonda and Jane Darwell. Tuesday, November 28: "42." This 2013 film tells the story of Jackie Robinsonís rise to fame as a Brooklyn Dodger and a trailblazer in sports history. Starring Chadwick Boseman as Robinson and Harrison Ford as Branch Rickey. The programs will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Society: East located at 153 Vernon Street West, Manchester, CT.
