Description:
The next meeting of the Manchester Art Association will be Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 7:00 pm in the auditorium of the Arbors, 403 West Center Street, Manchester (extra parking is available at Manchester Manor next door). The May meeting will be MAA's Annual Meeting with the election of officers and committee chairs and the presentation of our annual reports. Our guest artist, Kristin Dockendorff, will talk about keeping her creativity alive while facing progressive blindness. From a very early age, creativity has been an important part of Kristen’s life. Despite a progressive genetic eye condition, she taught students from pre-K to grade 8 in the Ashford school system for over 32 years. She taught a variety of mediums including painting, pen and ink, drawing and pottery. For many years Kristen also taught art at the Hole in the Wall Camp in Ashford. The program will include a members’ Art-of-the-Month competition and light refreshments. The meeting is free and open to the public.Guests and new members are always welcome.
