  Tickets go on sale Today for Historic Manchester Homes Tour
Description:
Save the date of Saturday, October 13 for a House Tour of beautiful and historic Manchester homes to benefit the Manchester Sculpture Project. Six homes in three parts of town will be included in the event which will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Homes are located on historic streets which celebrate the charm of Manchester including Comstock Road, Boulder Road, and Forest Street. Tickets will go on sale beginning Sept. 13th. Tickets will be available for $35.00 in advance at E.M. Dougan Art & Framing, Woodland Gardens and the Town of Manchester Customer Service and Information Center. Tickets will be available for $40.00 on the day of the event, at a location to be announced. Attendees must be at least 16 years of age. Docents will be available at each location to share information about the home and its history in the community. Music by many of the area's fine musicians will accompany the tour. The Manchester Sculpture Project committee has been working for two years to raise funds to erect three life size bronze sculptures, with Olympian, four time Manchester Road Race winner and Manchester native Joe McCluskey as the first to be honored. His statue will stand across from Highland Park Market along the Road Race route. He is widely regarded as one of Manchester's greatest athletes. Description:
The Whiton Branch Library on 100 North Main Street will present Donít Be Scammed!: Computer Security Sense, presented by Karen Freund of the Town of Manchester Information Systems on Thursday September 13, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. Is the computer or smart phone part of your daily routine? If so, you are exposed to technical threats every time you use it. This discussion will highlight some of the threats faced by people every day and some of the strategies you can employ to keep yourself safe. Itís a never-ending battle of good vs. evil but taking little steps can help prevent disaster. Karen Freund has worked for the Town of Manchester in the Information Systems Department for over 20 years. She supervises the technical support staff and works on various projects involving many departments throughout the town. All of the Information Systems Department staff is very focused on security issues and makes a concerted effort to protect the town network and users. No registration required for this free event. Help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend. GriefShare is a special weekly seminar and support group designed to help you rebuild your life after losing a loved one. Our group is made up of caring individuals who have experienced grief and want to help you through the difficult days ahead. This group meets on Thursdays from 6:30 - 8:30 pm, at the Manchester Church of Christ starting on September 13th and going through December 13th.
