  Deadline for Cruisin' 2018 Mini Grants Applications
The Cruisin’ on Main Street Philanthropy Committee is pleased to announce that it is requesting proposals for mini grants ranging from $500 to $2,000 from local community groups which directly benefit Manchester residents. Eligible applicants must plan to facilitate a project or program, excluding religious instruction or materials, capital expenses, or donations to other organizations. Grant funds are made possible by proceeds from the August 5, 2018 car show. Grant applications are available online at https://seam.ly/ujfkFa4x. Applications must be completed and submitted no later than 4:00pm, on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. A letter of support or recommendation is also required. Grant recipients who have been selected for funding will be notified by December 6, 2018. [8:00am] Extended Voter Session 8am-8pm
Extended Voter Session: Tuesday, October 30, 2018, the Registrars of Voters office at 479 Main Street, 1st floor, will be open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. This is the last day to register in-person or have a voter application postmarked before Election Day, which is Tuesday November 6, 2018. State Election: Tuesday, November 6, 2018 All 8 Polling places will be open from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm. You can obtain Voter Registration Applications by contacting the Registrar’s Office at 860-647-3025, or via the Secretary of the States website: https://voterregistration.ct.gov/OLVR/welcome.do All completed forms should be mailed to: Registrars of Voters, 479 Main Street, PO Box 191, Manchester, CT 06045-0191. The last day for mail-in and in-person voter Registration is October 30, 2018. For any Manchester resident not registered by October 30, there will be Election Day voter registration on Tuesday, November 6th from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm, at the Manchester Senior Center, 549 East Middle Turnpike. Proper identification showing the resident’s address will be required. Please note that District 8 will be voting at Cheney Tech High School, 791 West Middle Tpke, due to construction at Verplanck, while District 4 voting returns to Waddell School, 163 Broad Street, since construction at Waddell is complete. Regular absentee ballot applications can only be obtained until the close of business on November 5, 2018.
