TOWN OF MANCHESTER, CONNECTICUT BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOTICE REGULAR MEETING CANCELLATION Tuesday, November 6, 2018 The first regular meeting of the month of November 2018 of the Board of Directors has been cancelled. The Board of Directors will hold one regular meeting in the month of November on November 13, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Lincoln Center Hearing Room.

Description:
State Election: Tuesday, November 6, 2018 All 8 Polling places will be open from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm. You can obtain Voter Registration Applications by contacting the Registrar’s Office at 860-647-3025, or via the Secretary of the States website: https://voterregistration.ct.gov/OLVR/welcome.do All completed forms should be mailed to: Registrars of Voters, 479 Main Street, PO Box 191, Manchester, CT 06045-0191. The last day for mail-in and in-person voter Registration is October 30, 2018. Extended Voter Session: Tuesday, October 30, 2018, the Registrars of Voters office at 479 Main Street, 1st floor, will be open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. This is the last day to register in-person or have a voter application postmarked before Election Day, which is Tuesday November 6, 2018. For any Manchester resident not registered by October 30, there will be Election Day voter registration on Tuesday, November 6th from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm, at the Manchester Senior Center, 549 East Middle Turnpike. Proper identification showing the resident’s address will be required. Additional information, including location of your polling place can be found online at http://registrar.townofmanchester.org/ or by calling 860-647-3025. Please note that District 8 will be voting at Cheney Tech High School, 791 West Middle Tpke, due to construction at Verplanck, while District 4 voting returns to Waddell School, 163 Broad Street, since construction at Waddell is complete. Sample Ballots for each district, as well as the Explanatory Text for the Ballot Questions (bottom of Sample Ballot page) are available online at http://townclerk1.townofmanchester.org/index.cfm/election-information/ Absentee Ballot Applications are obtained from the Town Clerk’s Office, (860-647-3037) open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Town Hall, 41 Center Street, Manchester. Regular absentee ballot applications can only be obtained until the close of business on November 5, 2018.

Description:
St. James School Kindergarten - 8th Grade Open House St. James School in Manchester invites families to an informational Open House for its elementary and middle school programs (grades K – 8) on Tuesday, November 6th (Election Day). The Open House event will begin at 8:30am with a presentation in the school’s gymnasium, followed by guided tours of the school. St. James School’s traditional, accelerated, and innovative approach to education provides students with an academic foundation that is one to five grade levels ahead of target performance on national standardized (IOWA) tests. In addition to offering a strong curriculum in all the major subjects (including fine arts and STEM), students’ lives are enriched through the school’s focus on compassion and values, self-discipline, organizational skills, creative thinking, and lessons from the Catholic faith. Description:
The Manchester Public Library will host a Family Game Night in honor of International Games. Your Library Week on Tuesday November 6, 2018. Unplug for the night and spend some quality time with family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors while you play board games, provided by the library. Staff member and board game guru Jenn will be on hand to help teach games, but expect to learn some on your own. No need to bring any games, we have lots to share and take home with you afterwards. This is an all ages event and light refreshments will be served. Special donations from Brain Games Publishing and USAopoly will be featured. No registration required for this free event.
