Description:
Pediatric & Adult First Aid & CPR for Child care Providers. The class is ideal for daycare providers, new parents, teachers, babysitters, and coaches. Payment can be made the morning of the class. We accept cash or check. The class is generally taught the second Saturday of every month at 8:30a.m. at the Fire Station:second floor, 75 Center St. All interested students should e-mail: DawnS.CPR@gmail.com. Description:
Special one-day indoor holiday-themed tag sale to benefit the Manchester Land Conservation Trust and its work to preserve open space lands. Shop in the 5,000-square-foot cider barn on our farm property. Gifts for every age, items for entertaining: Christmas-themed china, cups, stemware, linens. Also, lights, trees, bulbs, wreaths, plus books, games, dishes, tools, artwork, furniture, machinery, household and sports items, near-antiques, Depression glass, etc. Books: $5.00 per bag. There are 3.5 miles of trails at the farm, so you can shop and hike on the same day. Trail map and info about the Land Trust and its events available online.



[12:00pm] Silk City Board Game Group Meeting
Description:
The Silk City Board Game Group, hosted by the Manchester Public Library, will meet on Saturday December 8th, 2018 from 12-4:30PM. Learn to play: Kanban; Villainous; Rescue Polar Bears; The Quiet Year Storytelling Game; and Kapow! with the designers from 2Ton Porcupine. Our extensive game library will also be available; no need to bring anything with you! We are pleased to partner with The Time Machine to offer this program. No registration required. Free program! Free light refreshments to be served. This event starts at 12PM in the Howroyd Program Room and will last until 4:30PM. The library is located at 586 Main Street, Manchester, CT. Swim with Santa: Come and enjoy free swim time with Santa! Santa will visit the pool for a fun morning of splashing and swimming with your children on Saturday, December 8th from 12:00 – 1:00pm. Children must have a valid pass in order to participate. Please bring a non-perishable food donation to support the MACC food pantry. Pool is the main pool at Manchester High School 134 East Middle Turnpike

Description:
Free Rail Trail Hike Saturday, December 8, at 1:00 p.m., starting at Fuss and O’Neill, 146 Hartford Rd., exploring the route of the former railroad, along the South End streets at first, viewing property recently acquired by the Town of Manchester, and then on to Center Springs Park and the footbridge over Bigelow Brook. About one-and-a-half hours round trip. Participants will hear about the history of the railroad. Sponsored by the Manchester Land Trust. No dogs, please. The Truly Troubadours concert features four wonderful Connecticut singer/songwriters in the Troubadour tradition: Lara Herscovitch, Dan Thompson, Bill Lud wig and Christian Loftus. Former Connecticut State Troubadour, Lara Herscovitch writes, sings and leads with authenticity, integrity, humor and heart, delivering performances that inspire, inform, uplift and entertain. Marmo is three Connecticut singer-songwriters in the folk/Americana/roots tradition employing a variety of instrumentation and strong vocal harmonies. $20 adults;$18 senior;$10 students, under age 10:free Saturday, December 8th at 7pm.
