Description:
The Manchester Historical Society will lead a walking tour in the Cheney historic district on New Year’s Day, Tuesday, January 1, starting at 1:00 p.m. inside the Cheney Homestead, 106 Hartford Road. We’ll walk along the Great Lawn to view the exterior of historic mansions, with a visit to the nine acres purchased by the Town in 2005 for open space and historic preservation. Historical Society members Tom Ferguson and Susan Barlow will comment on the historic landscape and buildings. Some steep and uneven ground. Park at Fuss & O’Neill, 146 Hartford Road. Extreme weather cancels. $10 for non-members, $7 for members, free for children under age 16. More info: www.manchesterhistory.org.
