  Economic Development Commission Meeting CANCELLED
Meeting Cancellation Notice The Economic Development Commission meeting scheduled for Thursday, January 10, 2019 has been cancelled. The next regularly scheduled meeting is Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. in the Directors Room of the Lincoln Center, 494 Main Street, Manchester.

Planning for Imagine Main Street 2019. MCSC is starting the new year off with a bang! On January 10th at Police Department Training Room on the 2nd floor.We will have Joyce Hodgson from Imagine Main Street share with us what Imagine Main Street is and all the events planned for 2019.

The MOMS Club® of Manchester/East Hartford is the local chapter of MOMS Club® International, which is a national nonprofit organization with hundreds of chapters across the country. MOMS stands for Moms Offering Moms Support. We meet at the South United Methodist Church on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 11 AM. This is a great way to meet other at-home Moms in your community and participate in fun activities all year long. Internationally, the MOMS Club has over 2,000 chapters in 7 countries, and we represent more than 100,000 members. Locally, our chapter has about 15 members and we are always looking for other moms to join. We hope you will join us for fun activities, great friendships, and a wealth of ideas and information! We do have a $25 membership fee and this goes towards our dues to International and for use of the church space, where our monthly socials are held. In addition to our monthly social we have numerous activities scheduled throughout the week at places like Jump Off, The Lutz, parks and play dates at people’s houses. We also do one Moms Night Out a month and every summer we have a family picnic. [6:00pm] Imagine Main Street
Imagine Main Street 2019 - changes and plans! The first Imagine Main Street of 2019 will welcome authors, publishers and book lovers of all ages. Activities will take place at the Army-Navy Club, Harvest Beads, EM Dougan Art and Framing, and Pinewood Furniture, all located on Main Street in Manchester's historic Downtown. Meet authors Elsa Kurt, Lauryn Wendus, Jessica Lucci, Allyson Louise Norton, Melissa Hayes, Kitty Barry, Billie Kowalewski, C. Coco DeYoung, Dexter Herron, A. A. Freda, Dana Buckmir and Michael Bailey. The evening will include a writing workshop, book making class and vintage book display, Manchester High School Young Writers and Illustrators club will be on site, along with Jamie Wilkens' fabulous book-themed hats, Amy Marcione's bookmarks for sale and the Online Book Club will offer information! For those who would like a little libation along with a good book, Filomena’s, Bistro on Main, and Mulberry’s will be offering some special drinks such as The Scholarly Scotch, Dog-eared Cognac and Librarians Libation. The Angry Egg will have special evening hours as well. New hats, socks and gloves can be donated at the locations which will be donated to MACC charities! Park with ease at the Forest Street or other downtown lots. Beginning with this January event, Imagine Main Street activities will be presented throughout the year, not just during the spring and summer months.

The Manchester Health Department in partnership with the Manchester Public Library are sponsoring 'Healthy Eating - Let’s Start the New Year Right'. This program is being offered on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Whiton Branch Library. Erin Ballou, Health Promotion Coordinator at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center will offer tips to help you maintain a healthy life style during the winter months.
