  National Wear Red Day
February 1st is National Wear Red Day. The Manchester Health Department urges everyone to “go red” to bring attention to cardiovascular disease, the #1 killer of American woman. In support of National Red Day please stop by the Customer Service Department, Senior Center or Credit Union to pick up a “Heart Healthy Awareness Pack” and an embroidered red dress sticker. Individuals decked out in red will receive a “Healthy Heart” pin while supplies last.

The Senior Center Advisory Committee Meeting meets every first Friday of each month. All Senior Center Members are encouraged to attend to discuss issues of concern to members, bring forward suggestions to the administration and be visionaries for the future!

First Friday Film Series 2019 Presenting: Don’t Tell Anyone/No Le Digas a Nadie Refreshments will be served. Community Members are invited to come watch and discuss the film in a welcoming and inclusive space. About the film: Director- Mikaela Shwer Don’t Tell Anyone (No Le Digas a Nadie) is a film about courage, facing insurmountable obstacles and the determination to fight for justice. In an environment where silence is often seen as necessary for survival, 24 year-old Angy Rivera steps out of the shadows to share her parallel journey of being undocumented and sexually abused, an ordeal all too common in her community. The film follows Angy’s personal story from poverty in rural Colombia to the front page of The New York Times as she becomes a beacon in a movement for national change.
