Ken Ludwig's THE GAME'S AFOOT It is December 1936 and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this glittering whodunit. Recipe Readers February 9, 2019 @ 12:30 pm at Mary Cheney Library, Howroyd Program Room Do you find yourself browsing through the cookbook section of your favorite library or bookstore? Do you like tasting new things and enjoy discussing them with others? Then we have just the program for you. Come to one of our “Recipe Readers ” events. This club will meet monthly on Saturday afternoons from 12:30 to 2:30. Each month a theme, author or cookbook will be chosen. Participants are asked to pick one recipe from the book(s) and come to the program with dish in hand on the date posted ready to discuss their experience. Dishes should arrive fully prepared and ready to share. This month theme/books choices are: Cravings by Chrissy Teigen. Registration Required. 7:00pm [7:00pm] Friends of Music at Emanuel Concert
The Friends of Music at Emanuel will present the MuUyas String Trio at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 60 Church Street, Manchester, on Saturday, February 9th, at 7:00 p.m. MuUyas means 'making music' in the dialect of Seediq, one of fourteen Taiwanese aboriginal tribes. In keeping with its name, the trio will explore music from diverse musical heritages, including its native Taiwan and western classical culture. The trio has performed throughout the United States and Canada, and at the National Taichung Theatre and National Concert Hall in Taiwan. Concert is free; donations gratefully accepted.
