Description:
The next meeting of the Manchester Art Association will be Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 7:00 pm in the auditorium of the Arbors, 403 West Center Street, Manchester (extra parking is available at Manchester Manor next door). The guest artist will be Michael Angelis. He will demonstrate monotype printing – a direct printmaking process where the artist applies and/or subtracts pigment from a Plexiglass plate and prints the results on paper. Michael has a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art with a concentration in painting and printmaking. He is a full-time high school art teacher. His topics include Foundation, Drawing, Painting, Printmaking and Art History. Michael works primarily in woodcut and oil painting. He maintains a studio in the Mill River District in New Haven. The program will include a members’ Art-of-the-Month competition and light refreshments. The meeting is free and open to the public.
