Description:
Manchester Historical Society invites the public to a "Manchester at the Movies" celebrating our own Manchester-born actress, Astrid Allwyn (1905-1978), in a vintage movie starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The event host is Society director Peter Millet, with historic commentary by author David Garnes. Actress Astrid Allwyn was born in South Manchester and went on to have supporting roles in over a dozen movies in the 1930s and 1940s. Donation requested: $2.00 per person, $5.00 per family.
