Summer Camp We are already gearing up for summer! Summer Camp registration forms will be available March 1st and must be postmarked before March 31st. Please note that approved financial assistance forms must be mailed in with registration forms in order to be processed, so be sure to contact Katie Clark at 860-647-3065 as soon as possible if needed. Description:
DISTRICT-WIDE SCIENCE FAIR Manchester’s young scientists will present their inventions and discoveries at Manchester Public Schools and Manchester Town-Wide PTA’s 8th Annual Science Fair with Invention Convention on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Manchester High School. We are expecting nearly 100, Kindergarten through 12th grade students from Manchester Public Schools to participate in the fair. During the current school year, these young inventors and explorers participated in their school science fairs, and have been selected as finalists to display their projects to judges and share their newfound knowledge with the community. This event is open to the public, on March 30, 2019 at Manchester High School from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm. The District-Wide Invention Convention finalists will move on to the next level of competition and take part in the Connecticut Invention Convention State Finals which will be May 4, 2019, at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT. Description:
Board Game Group For Adults! The Silk City Board Game Group, hosted by the Manchester Public Library, will meet on Saturday March 30, 2019 from 12-4:30PM. Learn to play: Choose Your Own Adventure: House of Danger; Endeavor: Age of Sail; Dice Settlers; Wingspan; Victorian Masterminds; and Between Two Castles of Mad King Ludwig. Our extensive game library will also be available; no need to bring anything with you! We are pleased to partner with The Time Machine to offer this program. No registration required. Free program! Free light refreshments to be served. This event starts at 12PM in the Howroyd Program Room and will last until 4:30PM. The library is located at 586 Main Street, Manchester, CT. Description:
Free hike Saturday, March 30, starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Case Parklet on Spring St. near the waterfall (GPS 670 Spring St.). Commentary about Case Brothers National Historic District, a visit to paper mill and mansion areas, and optional additional, strenuous, climb to the summit of Lookout Mountain. Steep, bumpy, and rocky terrain, but worth the effort! Wear sturdy sneakers or hiking boots; bring water. Extreme weather cancels. Check street signs before parking to avoid parking tickets. No dogs, please. Co-sponsored by the Manchester Land Trust www.manchesterlandtrust.org, the Manchester Historical Society, and CT Forest and Park Association.
