  Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Community Workshops
[Registration Open] The Town of Manchester is offering a three-part community workshop series on diversity, equity, and inclusion. The series is designed to build a foundation for on-going learning related to diversity, race, bias, equity, and social justice. Topics include: Equity 101, Everyday Anti-Racism, and How to Have Conversations About Race, Bias, & Equity. Workshops occur March through June, with four opportunities to attend each topic. Weekday sessions are offered in the morning, afternoon, and evening. A condensed two-session Saturday morning session is also available. Space is limited. Register early to secure a seat. Dangers of Underage Drinking & Distracted Driving
Join us at the Manchester High School Senior Parking Lot on Wednesday,1:00-3:00 for Manchester High School Students and 3:00 – 5:00pm for the general public. This event is free and suggested for youth drivers and their parents or guardians. The event will include live demonstrations and interactive experiences, such as: roll over simulator, seat belt convincer and impairment goggles. Representatives from the Manchester Police Department, the Change Collaborative and local organizations will be present. Pre-registration is not required. [7:00pm] Manchester Art Association Meeting
The next meeting of the Manchester Art Association will be Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at the auditorium of the Arbors,(extra parking is available at Manchester Manor next door). The May meeting is MAA's Annual Meeting with the election of officers and committee chairs and the presentation of our annual reports. Our guest artist Eliza J. Moser will demonstrate creating a charcoal portrait. Eliza has exhibited in local, national and international shows. She studied at the Florence Academy of Art where she received an award for Best Still Life of the Year. She is the creator of Professional Artist Interviews, a blog focusing on conversations about how artists can make a living by their art. She teaches in in Springfield, MA and at various locations around Western New England. The program will include a members’ Art-of-the-Month competition and light refreshments. The meeting is free and open to the public. Guests and new members are always welcome. Meetings are typically the third Wednesday of each month, Sept.-May. Visit our website for more information.
