8:00am [8:30am] Manchester Garden Club Plant Sale
The Manchester Garden club will hold its annual Plant sale on Saturday, May 18 at 8:30 AM rain or shine, in the parking lot of the Community Baptist Church at 585 East Center Street, Manchester. This is a once a year opportunity to buy a variety of plants grown by club members for $5.00. There will be perennials, flowering bulbs, ground cover, grasses and some small trees and shrubs. This is the Manchester Garden Clubs biggest fund raising event. This is your chance to support the club. The proceeds from the plant sale will be used to fund academic scholarship, and maintain the many civic garden and trees planted, in Manchester, by the Club.

9:00am [9:00am] Kids Stuff Tag Sale
DROP OFF IN APRIL Donate toys, books, games, bikes, sporting equipment, clothes...almost anything related to children and in good condition. Bring your items to the museum during normal business hours they will accept tag sale items thru May 17 . You will receive a tax receipt and the knowledge that your outgrown items will help to support educational programming at the museum. Shop In May Find great deals on gently used kid stuff and help to support the museum at the same time. You will find tables and tents outside the museum filled with everything you need for summer fun. You are likely to find the best selection on Saturday, but everything is 50% off on Sunday. Join us for a morning of fun and play! All families with infants under one year old are welcome to join us for a morning of learning and play with interactive activities, movement, and raffle prizes! Our FROZEN freshly handmade and abundantly stuffed PIEROGI together with delicious GOLABKI (stuffed cabbage rolls) will be available for sale in the Church Hall on May 18 (Saturday). $10.00 per dozen (12): potato&cheese (farmer’s) or potato&cheese (cheddar). Center Church Women will be holding a Tulip Tea on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 12 noon. The menu includes tea, finger sandwiches, scones, muffins, and delectable desserts. There will also be a Tea Shoppe with crafts and gifts. For ticket information call the Church Office (Mon-Th, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.) at 860-647-9941 before May 13th. Cost is $22.00. [2:00pm] Cheney Cinema Saturday
The Manchester Public Library will show an animated adventure/comedy featuring the citizens of Bricksburg during Cheney Cinema Saturday on May 18th, 2019. Due to license restrictions (since admission is free) we cannot release the name of the movie being shown, however it is rated PG, and run time is 1 hour and 47 minutes. The citizens of Bricksburg’s peaceful existence is threatened by outer space invaders, who are wrecking everything in sight, which results in a battle to restore tranquility to their world. Can’t guess the name of the movie? Call the library for more information! Light refreshments will be served. No registration required for this free event. [7:00pm] Memorial Concert at St. Mary's
Memorial Concert St. Mary's 20th Anniversary Richard J. McElraevy Memorial Concert With Acclaimed Pianist Paul Bisaccia. Saturday, May 18, 2019, at 7:00 pm at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 41 Park Street, Manchester, CT. This nationally acclaimed pianist Paul Bisaccia performing an all-Gershwin program on our Steinway grand. A reception will follow the concert. The concert is free and open to the public, thanks to the longstanding support of the McElraevy family in memory of Richard J. McElraevy.

[7:30pm] Hot Music
Hot Music - a Broadway Experience returns to Manchester for its 9th annual show. The 13 member cast will perform two hours of their favorite Broadway songs and entertain you with top-notch talent. The show will run May 17th and 18th at 7:30pm at Trinity Covenant Church, 302 Hackmatack Street Manchester. Tickets can be purchased at: tinyurl.com/hotmusic2019. Proceeds from this show benefits HOPE 4:10 - a local, non-profit ministry that helps connect those who have needs with those who have the skills and resources to meet the need.
