Historical Society's Genealogy Group

Description: A meeting for both amateur and more experienced genealogists.

We will present the Ancestry.com Webinar "Whiskey, Farming and the Choices to Move: Understanding Family Migration" by J. Mark Lowe CG, FUGA, and discuss after the video. {Program originally scheduled for March 13 and snowed out.] Mark describes the topic: "Moving from one location to another required a major change in living conditions. The choices that led to the decision to move, and the directions of movement are pivotal in understanding those ancestors. What might help you understand the migration choices your ancestors made? How can we develop strategies to learn more about our family and find new answers?" Members of the Genealogy Group will be available to meet with any attendee who has questions or needs help regarding their research.

The Genealogy Group consists of Historical Society members, but non-members are also welcome, $3.00 fee. The group usually meets on the second Tuesday of the month at the History Center except July, August & December.
