Restoring Wooden Windows

Description: Presented at the Manchester Historical on Monday, July 9. A free lecture describing the process of restoring historic wooden windows in an authentic and safe way.

The Vermont-based Preservation Education Institute is bringing this popular program to Connecticut. 'Whether you are an owner, contractor, craftsperson, architect or someone who just loves old windows, join us for an informative program on the steps for historic wooden window repair.'
Objectives include: Describe the process of authentic wooden window restoration. List steps to remove paint and glazing safely. Hire and communicate with contractors and craftspeople to restore windows with confidence. Use reference materials cited in the course for ongoing education and guidance.
