Book Talk at HIstory Center

Description: Civilian Conservation Corps program on Sunday, September 9 at 1:00, at the History Center, 175 Pine Street. Author Martin Podskoch will talk about his book,Civilian Conservation Corps Camps, History, Memories & Legacy of the CCC The CCC began in 1933 to relieve the poverty and unemployment of the Depression. Marty said,Over the past eight years I have traveled throughout Connecticut gathering stories of the CCC Camps. I have interviewed over 100 CCC boys and their families. The CCC disbanded in 1942 due to the need for men in WWII. After the presentation, Marty will have his book available for sale and signing.
