The Struggle Of Syrian Refugees Told Through Art-Reception

Description: There will be an artist’s reception, talk back, and celebration at Unitarian Universalist Society: East. The focus is twofold: an artist’s reception for “Adeebah; My Life, My Story Continues,” an exhibition of drawings by Syrian refugee Adeebah Alnemar, and a celebration of author Jake Halpern and graphic artist Michael Sloan, winners of a Pulitzer Prize for the New York Times’ graphic narrative series, 'Welcome to the New World,' a chronicle of a Syrian family’s arrival and struggle in the U.S.

Event is free and open to the public. The reception will be catered by Adeebah’s Middle Eastern Cuisine, the business Alnemar launched. For more information, call 860-646-5151 or visit our website.
