COMMUNITY SOLAR SEMINAR

Description: COMMUNITY SOLAR SEMINAR

It may surprise you to know that most people in Connecticut cannot install solar panels on their homes. There are many reasons why, but there is an alternative that those who are now shut out can use to enjoy renewable power: its called Community Solar (aka Shared Solar). It is a method of building a central solar “farm” in the community, paid for by community members who invest in and subscribe to a part of the power generated. The electric utility takes care of the accounting for your share of the power. Connecticut has been slow in adopting Community Solar compared with our neighboring states, but systems are just beginning to come online. The Solar Energy Association of CT is presenting this information session on Community Solar, with a talk by David Desiderado, the Shared Solar Organizer, CT Fund for the Environment. Come and learn about Shared Solar at the Community Room of the Manchester Police Station, on Saturday, Nov 10, 2018 at 2 PM. Questions? Call Gene at 860-649-9827.
