Manchester CERT Looking for New Members

Description: What is CERT? Simply put, CERT is neighbors helping neighbors. During a major disaster or severe storm the Town’s first responders may be committed to other emergencies or be unable to respond due to road closures. Town’s people who are CERT trained need not be part of a “team”, but membership is an option. As a trained CERT, you will be able to take care of your family, check on your neighbor’s well being and if you decide to join the Manchester CERT team, you will receive additional training in areas such as ham radio, Shelter operation, Fire/Police and more. The choice is up to you.

Must 18 years or older before being able to be a full team member. However, youths may be part of the team, with their parent’s permission. Although the youths will not be permitted to do any responses the team may respond.

The class, the text books and the gear are all supplied to each student at NO cost to the student. That’s right – the class is free!

What do I have to do to take the training? It’s easy - just register for the training class. The class goes for 9 Monday nights from 6:30 PM to about 9:30 each night, beginning March 18, 2019.
