Description: The Harlem Renaissance Authors

The Manchester Public Library on 586 Main Street will host Professor Wanda Haynes with her program, “The Harlem Renaissance Authors” on Tuesday February 26th, 2019 from 7-8 p.m.
Professor Haynes will speak about the reasons the Harlem Renaissance got started, as well as discuss the artists, writers and poets involved in the movement and how their work reflects what was going on in society at the time that they were creating their work. She will also discuss the climate of society and the affect it had on the work of the artists, writers and poets of that time.
Haynes is a full-time English Professor at Manchester Community College and has taught The Harlem Renaissance course for several years. Her M.C.C. course includes a trip to Harlem with a guided tour of the site of places discussed in class.
