Uniting for a Safe Inclusive Community

Description: Manchester (USIC) continues with its First Friday Film Series. In this Series, USIC offers films and facilitates conversations that help deepen understanding of the experiences of communities in our country that are marginalized and oppressed.

At the second session of First Friday Film Series, "Race - The Power of an Illusion: The House We Live In" will be presented. This film focuses on the ways institutions and policies advantage some groups at the expense of others. We see how benefits - often invisibly - accrue to white people, not necessary because of merit or hard work, but because of the radicalized nature of our laws, courts, customs and, perhaps most pertinently, housing.

This event is free and open to the public. Community members are invited to watch and discuss the film in an environment that is welcoming and inclusive.
