Free - Rail Trail Hike

Description: Free Rail Trail Hike on Sunday, February 26, co-sponsored by the Manchester Land Trust and CT Forest and Park Association.

Hikers will have an easy 3-mile walk along the former railroad, built in 1869. We will hike along the one-mile portion owned by the Land Trust and, depending on the weather, on to Center Springs Park and the new footbridge overlooking Broad Street. About two hours round trip, with commentary on the creation of the rail-trail.

Meet at the tracks on the north (right) side of 2 Main Street. Park at the nearby shopping plaza or Eighth Utilities District office building (please do not park in Farr's store’s parking lot).

A special favor will be given to children who attend the hike. No dogs, please. Info and a printable self-guided rail trail map at www.manchesterlandtrust.org – from the Home page, click on Flyers, then the map.
