Homestead Harvest & Old Time Music

Description: The Manchester Historical Society hosts an open house on Sunday, Oct. 8, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
HARVEST Open House at the Cheney Homestead, 106 Hartford Road, with hay rides, cordwood-sawing contest, old-time banjo & fiddle music, open-fire popcorn making -- and eating! -- and cornhusk doll-making, weaving demonstration, and winter gardening presentation by Bettylou Sandy. Don't miss these fabulous activities for young and old, reflecting on a traditional New England harvest. Tour the Cheney Homestead, built in 1785. Donations accepted for the upkeep of the museums. Info about local history: www.manchesterhistory.org. The Homestead will also be open 1:00 to 4:00 on Sunday, November 12, highlighting Native Americans.
